If anyone knows tell me the other programmes it would be very grateful! Thanks again to all!:D |
Just thinking... wouldn't it be possible to easily get sprite rips (not perfect but good enough for comics, fangames, etc) by using these tools to replace the background with pure black, and printscreening or similar?
|
I think in this thread I've seen someone with a video in which RuptureFarms was more blue (kinda like Zulag 3, except that this was the first part of Zulag 1). How can that be done? I'm aware that some animations will still have the original background color, but it would be awesome having an entirely blue RuptureFarms or a Stockyards with pink stars...
|
you should get this to work with the steam version of abe =3
|
i don't think paul is coming back, he has been inactive for ages now.:(

Psound
I was using Psound on my ps1 games, and i tried it on the music file from the extracted level file off my ps1 version oddysee and i got a heap of sounds off it. Im not sure if it will work on the computer version, or exoddus.:)
|
i think pauls dead....
|
Anything I send to the email address he provided with his registration gets bounced back. It’s an MSN account, so he must not have accessed it in a long time. I don’t think we’re going to be seeing Paul in a long time: so would people please stop pestering me to give out his email address. It doesn’t work.
|
-_- quite disapointing, was looking forward to AE sprites, however, i must applaud Pauls work, hex Editing and working from memory Dump files is a very tedious and time consuming task, and i only know that too well

Hex Editing Exe, Little Help
:
I have a couple of tips when hex editing Oddysee and Exoddus exe's. First :fuzmad:Do NOT create or delete extra spaces as it will ruin the exe. Second, there are only a number of things you can edit e.g. The help text, the Esc menu text and mix the sounds around. If you are editing the scrolling help text then here is a small hex list: 01 = (Up Arrow) | 02 = (Down Arrow) | 03 = (Left Arrow) | 04 = (Right Arrow) | 05 = Shift | 06 = Ctrl | 07 = Alt | 08 = Z | 09 = Space | 10 = 6 | 11 = 7 | 12 = 8 | 13 = 0 | 14 = Esc | 15 = X | 16 = Esc | 17 = Tab | When you view the hex ASCII it will show up as a . Sorry to go a bit off topic but I think that this will help some beginners a bit in this topic. |
This thread should almost be stickied as a monument to Paul, and because it's so... Dedicated is the only word I can find for it...

did any of the other workers cry too?

Here's some other animations I pasted together. I tried to make them as centered as possible.

yeah.
|
Is there any way of extracting music from AE?
|
No way that’s known, but there is already an awesome rip of AE’s music.
|
I'm only a begginer at this, so how do you edit the sounds in the level.
|
There really isn't a way of doing so, the best so far that i've done is switch sound files around from 2 different levels, which just screws the sounds up alot, making footsteps sound like gunshots and chanting sound like whistling among some of the things.
I have a video demonstrating it if you would like to see. |
Thanks, i would like to see this video of yours:fuzgrin:
|
:
I must stick this in front of the Glukkon sprite to make a wonderfully dirty picture :tard: |
I think I posted this before in the thread but here you go. This is the time when I didn't have a registered version of HyperCam and the quality sucks a bit, I might re-record another later. I don't know how to edit certain sounds just replace and switch files. |
a very hilarious video, but it dosn't show you how to switch the sounds.:fuzconf:
|
I did say I couldn't do it. I said I could swap the sounds from one level to another, with the results being that all the sounds are messed up.
Unless you find a way to change an individual sound into another one there is no way of editing the sounds and probably wont be for a very long time. |
ok
So how can you SWITCH sounds (not edit them) |
this thread seems pretty dead, anybody replying?
|
Try renaming the two files to each other.
Eg rename A.lvl to B.lvl and B.lvl to A.lvl Or something similar. |
ok, i'll give it a go
nope, just made it crash, any other way?:fuzconf: Mod note: posts merged. Please don’t double post, Slig75. |
There is no way to edit the individual beats of sound as of now, unless you talk to Paul or someone because apparently he found a way to change beats around.
All my video demonstrates is really screwed up paths leading to really screwed up sounds. |
