I love how we treat our special members. Except that I don't.

Even if it does release on XBLA, my Xbox doesn't have the space, so I'm screwed either way. At least I still have the original Xbox version, and there's always the Steam port I guess.

Didn't feel like making a new thread, but in this update, it says consoles, not just PS3. Does this mean the 360 version is indeed coming out, or Im I just reading too much into words?

It never has been a secret that the guys over at jaw also want the port to be available on xbox 360.

While everybody is busy with the Oddboxx, Stewart had posted a sort of JAW diary on the Playstation Blog

Neat find erwinraaben55! That Chippunk looks scary.
Oh, yeah, reported it on Oddblog |
Got to love modern day engine technology:D
The character revamps are looking really nice. Can't wait to see the game with updated environment textures and effect. Ow if only they would a new oddworld game using current tech and having the stuff similar to what was shown in those old PS2 MO vids. (The epic looking stuff that kept elements from the first 2 games, including jumping and running animations :p : stealth Camera movement test One can dream... |

Wow, that's certainly a lackluster response to an important update. Well done, bros.
I keep looking back at how radically different the crossbow in the opening movie is to the one in the gameplay. The one in the opening movie only has a single ammo launcher and the bow looks far different from the gameplay version, which has two ammo launchers. I wonder if they're going to make the gameplay version fit the movie version, or vice versa? Seeing as how the version in the game would probably require two launchers, it seems like a better idea to redesign the movie version... but could they do that easily, or would they need to re-do the cinematic sequences from scratch? Do they have the funds to do that? I bring this up simply because it looks like they're making revisions to the game models to better resemble the models used in the FMVs- Stranger's shirt, which inexplicably took on a green tint in the game, has become the same shade of red as in the movies, and the Grubb skin has become pastier, to match their anemic appearance in the movies. There are, however, many glaring inconsistencies between the in-game models and the FMV models that have yet to be addressed, and I just hope JAW's eye for detail is going to be as sharp as it's already been when tackling those things. Oh, and a quick request- please get some more voice actors to give the game's dialogue a little variation? I'm sure there are members of JAW's staff that can do voices. And perhaps a female voice actor or two to play the parts of the female characters? Even if they ARE basically just the same CG models. I know it's meant to be comedic, but it came across to me, personally, as distracting, considering that the voices already had such little variation to begin with. Also, seeing as how this game presents the audience with some of the first female characters in Oddworld, that is somewhat momentous and one would have thought they'd have treated that with a little more care... |

We need us some Gilray. |
:
Was the model like that when OWI gave them the resource files? Was it an error, or do they want the shirt colour changed for some reason? |
That's precisely what I mean.
|
Hmm good observations. I guess it will have to be red shirt from now on.

Munch's oddysee is coming on PS3:
Oddworld Inhabitants on facebook: Stranger is due in Q2 of this year. Currently Munch has been announced for PS3. |
Uh, that's a really weird way to announce it. I can't help but wonder if they actually meant that.
|
Sounds like a typo: "Currently Munch has not been announced for PS3" makes more grammatical sense.
|
But we can only guess it will.
It will be awesome if they put in the missing features from the PS2 MO |

I'm going to be miserable and predict that Stranger's Wrath isn't going to get an Easter release. Why? Because theres been next to none media coverage or buzz added to it to get us excited for it yet (Except oddworld forums of course). No clips or trailers or even teaser trailer or previews from games websites. Theres just been the odd developer diary on JAW and playstation blog. I'm going to predict a Q2/Q3 release, more likely Q2 of the year.

Indeed! Until recently, such a small proportion of the assets have been rebuilt that any preview would show a mixture of HD and original-quality characters and environments, and that wouldn't be giving the right impression.
|
Plus, Easter is in late April this year. Three months in advance is far too soon to sizzle a game (especially a re-release) when you have a limited budget.
|
Dammit couldn't of timed it any worse ha! Fair enough. But isn't that them just revealing it to game sites as in an official preview rather than its official release date for PSN and PC?
