theres one more commin up later on today, just another test tho, not a final version. Just testing something new out to add to the level. |
My my, that's thirty times better than your original conception I saw almost a year back! I would bow to your awesome powers but God doesn't like that thing so enjoy an enormous virtual cookie on my tab!
|
Awesome! I really like the trees :D

*munches on virtual cookie |
If you EVER need beta testers, I will fucking kill for you!

Heh, may I inquire as to how much you have done?

Maybe about 1/3 of Paramonia is complete (not including the temple areas) Most of theobjects are usd in the first path (the path in the video) then reused again later eg the trees are just 3 objects (1 tree per object but of varying sizes just cloned and placed in the scene) the same goes for things like the wooden poles, I made one, then made 15 variations in sizes and width wich leaves me with 45 pieces of wood. I then construct each wooden structure with these pieces wich is a hell of a lot faster than making each one from scratch. Basicaly my plan for now is to make the first path of each area, then go from there. This way I get to see what each area will finaly look like sooner, get it all done much quicker and get the bulk of it done now so the final stages will be a breeze to make (in theory) aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllll I need to do then is find a new programer thats up for the job, then we can get to the testing stage. by the way... just in case you might be thinking that I work slow, most of my time so far has been taken up by remaking the areas again and again, its taken me 6 attempts to make Paramonia to get to the final version that you will soon see. So I already have loads of stuff to add to the "Bonus Materials" lol Maybe i should do a Dev Diary like Gilrod... hmmm.... nOWtun EDIT: Here is a link to another test for paramonia. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9uX2GTRCfc (Saying its not uploaded yet, taking ages to process) |
If you release a paid version I will buy it. I want to beta-test for you, but my programming skills are only HTML.
|
Yeh you should do a Dev diary, that would be great. And I don't think you work slow, I think you work with great precision and care, if I'm honest, this is the best piece of amateur gaming I have ever seen in my whole life. And I don't like saying nice things so yeh!
EDIT: Lismati, nOWtun cannot distribute his work for monetary gain because it infringes on Oddworld's copyright. |

You could ask Nowtun, but i'd wait until game completion.

Oh dear Nowtun, I'm wetting myself waiting for a release now, things are getting worse!!! XD
|
I was wondering... does anyone of you have the Art of the game? If someone had it and scan it down it would be easier to model the characters and rig them...
By the way nowtun, you're doing all the animation inside Lightwave? Man, I've been through maya, 3ds max, lightwave, but I can't seem to like any other than blender... It just does everyting with professional results and you don't have to pay for it...Hmm..anyway, would you like some hand on the modeling and detailing? P.S. Do you know an application called camtasia? It records you in your workflow on windows, or any application. It would be cool to see you do some stuff on lightwave ;) Could go into the bonus stuff latter on! |
:
:
Have you got any work that I can see.....maybe you could post it on here? I haven't heard of camtasia but think this could be a cool idea to go in some bonus stuff later and will look into this. depending on whether you can stop start the filming as i do my work in split sessions Thanks man. |
Hmm, Nowtun I may be able to help you look, do you need a general free lance programmer?
|
:
Thanks STM |
What would he have to programme in? C+? Java script?
|
Anything lightwave compatable
|
Is there anything I can do, or try, nowtun? I want to see how capable I am at texturing, but not the mapping part, just the part where you paint the texture in image creation software, like photoshop. I've got photoshop, and 3dsmax. Would like to try painting the texture for a character, or something similar, not something like a tree, or ground texture.
Good work on the paramonia scenery btw :D |
Thanks AG I do have something you could try for me. How about having a go at making the cloth for the Elum signs in Paramonia???

Nowtun, I tried modelling it :D... I could probably start it again, and do it better.. is it decent? |
Yo Nowtun I did some digging for you and there's a hunk of AO / AE void and new and specifically fan related copyright that might apply, I'll post it below tomorrow after my commemoration service down at the SCD church

Thanks both |
Nice one Gibbs :D I would of use the cloth modifier then bring it it into reactor to have that sorta wrinkle up folding, but the would have a LOT of polys in it though. Good job both of you!
