My list:
Linkin Park Crush 40 Avenged seven Fold |
I hate to sound like every other elitist scum on this board, but really try to add something to the thread instead of just flogging names of bands you like. Say why you like them, or post link to their music, or anything for Christ's sake.
Por ejemplo: this, the band Beruit is one of my current fetishes, as it has a big and brassy traditional Jewish feel to it. |
Wut ehah yoo saay, thooper monk.
Teehee Anyway, I love the Band becuase of how they blend so many styles of music under the folk/country/rock umbrella. Their instrumentation extends to other things like brass, piccolos, and accordians, and it seems fluent and cohesive. Not like ska, oh god I hate ska......., but like just a band that uses the said intruments. I don't know how else to describe it, probably becaue I'm eating pizza whilst typing this. I also like how their selection of music is dotted with things like the American civil war and sincere biblical references. So yeah, go the Band. Hmm, I have a feeling SOMEONE is going to be like "ugh, tons of bands are like that, n00b." |

<<.. My music changes a lot, these are just some I like at the moment. I really just started listening to modest mouse, and I really don't see the point in starting to fear anything because I have a deverse taste in music. Meh, I need to lighten up.... As for your next post, sure will... KoRn.. I like some loud music every now and then, but a lot of their music is just stupid. Linkin Park.. Ehhh.... just something to listen to. I like a few songs here and there, but nothing I worship or anything. Nickelback.. I like the lyrics, even though that's not what the songs are about. It's got a nice, slow, but hard-ish feel. If that makes sense :p Modest Mouse.. I really don't know, it just seems a good break from all the stereotypes of music. Slipknot.. You know what, get rid of this, don't know what the hell I was thinking. |
I've recently taken a liking to a jazz group called "The Bad Plus." Has anyone else heard of them? I guess you could categorize them as Advant-Garde jazz. They got a nice, random sort of style, but not all trippy like Miles Davis' stuff.

Give you some time. And you will give me payment in the form of $540 NZD for my thoughts and criticisms? Why, thank you, please email super-munch@gmail.com . |
Not paying, but thanks for the words of wisdom.
They are, I just haven't posted a lot of the stuff I listen to. Here is some more, for the hell of it. Bob Marley- Reggae is my replacement for prozac. Wierd al- Laughter stops you from dying early and being an asshole Shaggy- Reggae is my replacement for prozac :p Among others. Music is good if it sounds ok. I try not to restrict myself to any stereotypes, because they suck. |

That is fairly disgusting but as long as he doesn't make a mixed tape that includes both Modest Mouse and Nickelback I can live with it. I've been listening to Wolf Parade a lot. Great band. Reminds me a lot of Talking Heads. |
:
Oh hell no. I seperate things the way they should be. |
:
I'm loving Talking Heads at the min though, Psycho Killer! Fafa fafaaa fafa fa faaa! |
I haven't been able to get my hands on the ep. I know it exists. I just can't find it.
|
I must add Linkin Park to my list. Damn that Chester can sing! Saw him live yesterday :D.
|
Ohmigosh! I just bought Dashboard yesterday and listened to it all day. It. is. so. feckin. awesome.

I'm listening to some Blind Guardian and Iced Earth at the moment... those are great bands for studying :p

Anyone know any of the 1930's hits? Lawl, but I'm serious. Ever since I downloaded Mafia soundtrack I'm addicted.
|
I do believe I'm becoming an indie dork.
My musical choices of the past few weeks have been Bright Eyes, Iron and Wine, Against Me! and Elliot Smith. I submit, indie music. You have conquered me. Edit: Ah yes, Talking Heads as well! Gotta love pretentious New Wave. Don't Take My Kindness for Weakness = Myes. |
One of the independant record stores near my house drew a little knife on the card that says Elliot Smith. I didn't know if I should laugh or be offended. Ultimately, I laughed.
|
:
Also, if you haven't heard it give Judas Priest's Painkiller a try. That's good fun too |
I'm listening to Jordan by Buckethead.
I'm not to fond of Buckethead himself, but his music kicks a**. |

Why the fuck aren't you talking about Bright Eyes, heathens!?
Lolzords to the knife thing, you geriatric you. :p |
My parents have just recently bought the Blue October CD "Foiled" and it has some pretty good songs on there. "X amount of words" and "Into the Ocean" are probably my favorites. They have a kind of smooth sound to them and I haven't really listened to anything that sounds like them in a while so it seems refreshing.

A few songs I've come to love.
To The End - My Chemical Romance The Ghost of You - My Chemical Romance Space Monkey - Placebo The Bitter End - Placebo The Kids Aren't Alright - The Offspring Rock Your Socks Off - Tenacious D Kielbasa - Tenacious D Wolf Like Me - TV on the Radio White Light - Gorrilaz Also, for some reason, I can't stop playing 'Don't Stop Me Now' by Queen. I dunno. Maybe it's because I've seen Shaun of the Dead recently. |
