I agree, it's like a storm circle and uses the same features to canalise the mudokons' power but isn't exactly the same

We've long since deduced that those height charts aren't quite accurate. If Abe is 5' 8", then Molluck would be maybe 6' 5", but according to the chart he's 9 something feet.

Well, I thought that the charts were correct, since Snoozers are really around 12 feet. So that was just my theory that it was accurate.

They've been surgically prevented from whistling while they work, not neccessarily from speaking and/or eating

Well, I beg to differ. Our mouths and other animals mouths, shape to form the sounds coming out of our mouths. Therefore, if your mouth is prevented to form a whislting shape, you cannot shape your mouth anymore than it can. So, Interns can't speak in this theory, just more of grunts.

Munch's Master 04-23-2006 04:21 AM

^^ Yes, but Intern mouths are completely different to human mouths, for one they're vertical. Also this is Oddworld, they may be able to whistle in other ways. But I do see your point and it is very valid.

Sekto Springs 04-23-2006 07:48 AM

I can only imagine the complaints OWI would get if intern mouths weren't sewn shut. :dodgy:

Glukinator 04-23-2006 08:44 AM

If Interns' mouths are sewed together, than how can they breath?

They are not sewn tight shut, just enough so they can't wistle. They are still able to breath with the little opening between their lips.

Bullet Magnet 04-23-2006 09:13 AM

You can hear them grunt and "scream". You couldn't if no air could escape. Looking at the intern's skeleton, their surgury looks to be far more extensive than we realise: they have no jaw. It makes sense, given the Vykkers' disposition, but another theory is that they originally had sucker mouths, like lampreys.

Oddish 04-23-2006 09:43 AM

I agree with you, Bullet. The intern's skelliton confuses me, I was expecting a vertical jaw, but it's only muscle.

Xavier 04-23-2006 10:58 AM

maybe that's why they are so addicted by easy eated pills :p

Has the names turns to Native wildlife?

e.g I was a Mudoken Scub, now I am a fuzzle.

No, they changed the names to match Stranger's Wrath...

The lowest ranks are now the Live Ammo types. There's a thread in Forum Suggestions and Help if you want more information.

I a few questions myself. First off, when Abe died in AO, in the moon movie, was he revieved? And why was the symbol of infinity(sp?) being wrote on the ground for?

Glukinator 04-26-2006 04:22 PM

Why is it that sligs were those masks?

Dark Elite_H2 04-26-2006 04:24 PM

Ya know, I believe the Glukkons put masks on to;

1) Keep their ugliness concealed from them

2) Have a breatheable environment so they won't suffocate in their masks.

3) Make them look more viscious :D

It symbolizes the eternity of life: birth, life death, rebirth etc. And yes, Abe was revived. I guess the Bigface used it to sort of 'rebirthed' Abe again so that he may continue his journey.

Plus it's a good Jesus-metaphor.

Or not.....

Glukinator 04-28-2006 01:04 PM

Why are the only species that were clothes Muds, Interns, and Glukkons? Do they have no pride?

used:) 04-28-2006 01:08 PM

Why are humans to wear clothes? Because it is both fashionable and necessary.

Sekto Springs 04-28-2006 01:16 PM

Only hippies and communists don't wear clothes. Their perverse way of 'sticking it to the man'.

I don't wear clothes because I'm lazy and claustrophobic.

Well, it is possible Abe didn't die. After all, the Big Face said he was dead but Abe probably would have to be alive to hear that.

Still, the infinity.

Watch the Skykurl{sp} video carfuly. The birds fly in a side-ways 8 {or infinity} just before Abe transforms. It's possible that on Oddworld it is a/the symbol for the skykurl, and does not represent Infinity.

Oddish 04-28-2006 02:42 PM

It could mabey symbolise invincibility, as Shrykull is ,and Abe was invincible for a short minute as Bigface granted it.

Or Abe has rebirthed as Shrykull.

Sekto Springs 04-28-2006 03:06 PM

Hmm, wow, I never noticed that before. What a nice spot, Adder!

I agree with Marchello, I think Shrykull symbol does mean invincibility.. Or perhaps a metaphor for infinite power (infinity).

used:) 04-28-2006 03:34 PM

I think the twin bird rings symbolize the 'third door' into god like power and stuffs. In which he has already past through life, and death,a nd now has the power of the Shrykull. Or possibly the two parts to his Shrykull power, the hand scars.

I don't think they're trying make Abe look like Jesus. Jesus does't go around killing sligs and farting.

Oddish 04-29-2006 08:32 AM

Mabey they are trying to show some kind of hidden Jesus with Abe, Crucifix ending? Abe is actually more like Mosess, rescuing slaves.

"Erm, let my people go?"

Sekto Springs 04-29-2006 08:58 AM

Yes. Abe is more like Mosess than like Jesus. (Although, Mosses does't go around killing sligs and farting either.) But I still agree.

If something is a metaphor, then it doesn't have to be accurate down to the bone of what it means.
