Bit of a grandiose title considering I still post, albeit infrequently (and my contributions nowadays are vapid and devoid of intellect and meaningful content... then again, I suppose nothing's changed)...

I now live in London, where I'll be for 9 months, working for an arts group, doing administration and PR. Hardly profitable. But an interesting experience nonetheless. I'm not a fan of the hustle and bustle, in honesty. However, it is great to be close to so many good music venues...

I went on holiday for a week to the Shetland Islands, then stayed over at a friend's for a few days after. I bet you were all wondering why old Oddjob wasn't coming around no more.

I've being clearing out my loft today. I always have good fun doing so, because I always come across something that I forgot about. A couple of years ago, I found a glove puppet I was given when I was a small child, and last year, I came across a Bob Dylan LP that my Dad gave me about twenty years ago. Or at least it fucking feels like it. The first significant event of the year has occured - I've caught a cold. I'm snotty, my ear is congested, and my cognitive faculties have been put out of action. The shop's run out of the good Beechams, so I'm stuck with the tablets (which I don't find as effective), and I can't eat without my congested ear throbbing with every bite. Norman Wisdom passed on yesterday. I never thought I'd feel gutted about the death of somebody I've never met.

I saw Frank's son (Dweezil) perform on the 21st in Cambridge. Great stuff. They played a fantastic two and half hour set, and did a stunning job. I would definitely see them again. They played one of my favorites:

I went to Leeds to watch Spamalot with my brother yesterday. It was fantastic. Best laugh I've had in ages. Eric Idle was fantastic, despite not being in much of it. He's done a great job adapting The Holy Grail for the stage. It's a big piss-take of all that fucking stupid Andrew Lloyd Webber stuff. It was really well-done. Not one person was mis-cast. Absolutely hilarious. Todd Carty was brilliant as Patsy. Very, very good stuff.

Me and my brother have been through all the tapes that my eldest nephew used to have. We even watched a couple. For anyone here with children, I recommend Oakie Doke (which I used to call "Oakie Dokey" by mistake). I'd mention Sooty and Pingu "two other tapes we went through), but I have done before. It doesn't seem two minutes ago that he was sat watching all those things. The hours we had to spend sitting through bloody Fireman Sam!

I got back a few hours ago after camping with a friend up in the Lake District. I heard she'd gone up, and I hadn't seen her in a long time, so I went up with her and her daughter. I was going to take Emily and my brother, but my brother's working, and Emily hates camping. We went hiking, and today, we did a bit of climbing (something I'm very bad at). I forgot to watch the first episode of the new series of "The Prisoner". It probably ballsed it all up, anyway. They usually do. After a bit of quick research, I have discovered that Number 2 doesn't keep changing in this series. That's shit. One of the best part of the programme was when he said "I am the new Number 2". I hope they kept the "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. I am not a number. I am a free man." line. That made every episode.
