Allow me to hold you attention for two minutes more: I need your opinion.

Sorry for posting two blogs in rapid succession but I want to gauge your opinions on something, perhaps this isn't the correct forum (rofum?) to be asking since this isn't an RPG forum but meh.

Ok, I have a fantastic idea, and some preliminary sketches for a game but I am hung. You see I have this fantastic world, I built up from scratch, most minor details are covered and the fluff I feel is up to grade. So all this goes into what?

A card game sort similar to Magic the Gathering but with a lot more background info?

+ More people will be interested probably
+ Larger reception
+ Could be posted on kongregate or other gaming websites
+ First idea was to create the card game with a twist
- Hard work building the world up would be wasted perhaps on a card game
- Do internet card games survive, would have to be up to scratch with games like 'elements'.

Or an RPG, perhaps P&P, no flashy graphics or anything, details are scratchy, maybe built up on a forum.

+ Will be able to focus on the fluff I created
+ Possibility to release multiple rule editions
+ Will exercise writing practice
- Almost certain to fade away after a few years
- Requires constant number of members to be fun
- Requires more than one person to run

I personally want to go down the card game route and then issue the fluff in bitesize proportions on a forum or wiki.

But what do you people think? I generally am interested in your opinions because I think the people here are down to earth and...friendly(?) even if this isn't your cup of tea/ don't give a
fuck.

Thanks for reading,
STM

I dont know much about making no flash games or nothing, but if you go with the card game route, you must have online play.

Sounds good, fucking difficult nut to crack, though. It took a mathematician to come up with Magic: he Gathering and all it's minutia.

Make it imagination-based like D&D. That way you can blame any problems on the players.

Hmm, I like MM's way of going about things. My friends are currently in the works of transcribing Dragon Age data to create a basis for an RPG. It's shaping up pretty well actually.

I have the coding ability and various tutorials where my knowledge is inept. I would only require someone to make the graphics and online bits should it come to it.

What sort of graphics?

I thought you were good at graphics. You're working on the Necrum theme, after all.

Actually, what's going on with that? Surely you should finish one project before starting the next?

This is STM.

He's probably gone through 2 projects between the Necrum theme and now.

Exactly, in the time since I've started the Necrum theme I've done coding for a game, I've changed the Necrum theme twice, I've tried to write two novellas and I've planned this game which I am naming EtherEal. And erm, I like to keep active but to be honest I haven't worked on Necrum Theme for about a week, I'm still trying to find the perfect fleech, if I can't I will need to use some other shittier alternative.

I always have more than on projct on the go. I still have the 2010 Mod Survivor Island comics at the bottom of my to-do list to prove it.
