Is it just me...

Or does Pilot bare a striking resemblance to the Time Travelling Bro?

I'm on to you.

And yet instead of playing the lottery, he owns a TV repair shop.

Brilliantly played, Mr.Time Traveler....

I'm actually kind of upset that you found that.

I knew it. You went back to the 1940's because you love vintage shit.

My living room is a museum-like snapshot of the mid-1950s. See it some time.

At least you now know how and why it's all in pristine condition.

My initial guess of 'reclusive obsessive collector who lives in the past because he's afraid of who he really is' just isn't as good as 'time traveler'. Nor does it make as much sense. Fuck.

You're right on the money. I used to be quite obsessive compulsive. And quite reclusive.

Then I grew up.

It was half dig and half 'I dig you', Pilot. I really do admire the fuck out of your mechanical abilities and I can't knock what anyone wants to collect, obsessively or not, as I collect toys and comic books.

I really appreciate that!

I didn't take it as a dig, I try to be honest, and I try not to be ashamed of what I am or what I've been, which is why I found it funny that you should so hit the nail on the head with striking bluntness. There was a time that I was in a stage of denial about who I was and things just came out in weird (considered obsessive compulsive) ways. I had to work through a great deal of it on my own through common sense though... and a lot of having to just be honest with myself. That's the reality. The denial I was going through starting at about 19 was socially inhibiting to me, and so came the o/c hobbies and interests that buried my mind and attention so I didn't have to deal with the world and others in it, since dealing with myself seemed such an impossible task.

What I have today is a mere fraction of the collection I used to have, which I've been liquidating what at first was a quick pace but has tapered off. It's been like a lizard shedding his skin- all that doesn't fit me any more. Now I focus on what I like less obsessively and enjoy them much more!

So I still have some nice vintage furniture (not a whole house furnished in every minute detail 'period'), SOME old car parts (not a whole yard and barn full) and just a small handfull of cartoon/movie action figures.

I definitely appreciate collecting as a hobby, but I have lived it to the extreme and I vow to never again.

So was this before or after you got the time machine.

That doesn't look like Pilot at all. It's not his face, not his hair and certainly not his fashion.

Now, the guy at the back left in the fedora... that is Pilot.

What if they collected used condoms?
