Buy cheap, buy twice... (and burglars)

... Is the saying. It's true, you know (except perhaps it should be "Buy low quality, buy twice"). I bought a bicycle 4 years ago which was being sold on offer by the local bike shop, and now it's so broken and there's so much wrong with it that it's not even worth repairing - And half the parts aren't even original because they broke after one year.

So yeah, learn to know a good deal from a bad one. I could've bought a better quality bike with the money I've spent on this thing to repair it since I've had it, combined with it's initial cost. And now I have to buy an entire new bike ontop of that. Sure, I've ridden 2500-3000 miles with it in 4 years, but that should be nothing for a bike.

Learn from my fail.

However as I type this, the police helicopter has been hovering over the woods next to my house at 3:40am for the past 20 minutes, plus I keep seeing the occasional flicker of torches in the woods through my windows. Which is a little scary. I guess. And the reason why I'm not in bed yet. Maybe this blog should be about that instead?

Update: Nothing happened. Can't blame criminals for hiding in the woods, I just hate it when the bastards come running here and trying to break into my home to hide from the police, which happened once. I need to sort my fence out.

Actually the saying is 'Buy cheap, Pay twice'. Though it might just vary from region to region.

Sorry to hear about your bike. Mine is on its way out as well. Most annoying.

As for the people dodging the police, in high school my friends grandfather shot a guy in the knee with a shotgun because the prick was trying to hide in his garage during a police chase.

Lucio, the grandfather, almost got arrested for it. The town went nuts.

He got shot by the criminal who was hiding in his house, but they wanted to arrest him? Sounds like law enforcement at its finest. Why that injustice?

I can beat that, my great grand parents in Ireland had great injustice for being evicted from their land...they blew up a police station. Woop.

Oh right, I misread.

Still, that's bullshit as well - If you're deliberately trespassing into someone's home (and I don't mean simply on their land, I'm talking actually being inside their dwelling) and potentially pose a threat, the law should not be on your side, and you should get what you deserve if you get harmed by the tenants. It's a bit like that famous Tony Martin case who shot 2 burglars, one of them dead, and got put in prison for it only to be released after a long trial. They shouldn't have been there in the first place.
