I love MLP.

And it became a meme because there are some pretty lulzy/exploitable moments. Lauren Faust produced a quality program, especially considering what she had to work with. It's not a great show, but it's not terrible. Is it worthy of all this internet fame? Well, that's just the nature of the internet, ain't it?

To clarify, I like the show itself, not because it's meme fodder. Most - if not all - of the memes are actually pretty stupid anyway.

I don't understand any part of this. When did My Little Pony stop being for pastel-brained infants?

It's a clever show for four year old girls with high production values and good writing and animation that can be enjoyed by adults.

Just like Transformers is a clever (allegedly) show for young boys that can (allegedly) be enjoyed by adults.

Ah, normal. We should make a list of things it's not normal to do and see how many of them you/I/we do.

I'm a 19 year old man. I understand that certain things are made for certain people, and once in awhile those certain things fill in a niche.

But the show isn't for me. The show is made for children, and anyone who attempts to deny that is foolish. It's fine to like kids shows for one reason or another, it's another to believe in those programs so hard that you have to let it permeate your life and stuff it down everyone's hole.

It's a breakout show. The internet loves breakout anything.
Like Adventure Time, it started as a show aimed at kids but found it's audiences with an older demographic. As the series developed, it began to add more things that appealed to said demographic, and became very enjoyable as a result.

How many of you who have posted in this blog have actually seen the show anyway? I had the same trepidation when Joe first sent me clips of the show, but over time, I succumbed to it's charm.

I certainly won't be wearing any MLP merch any time soon though.

No, I haven't watched the latest incarnation of the show. I dare say that it doesn't, like its ancestors, drip sap and twee from every orifice. But then, how would it be My Little Pony? I mean, apart from the inclusion of an easily-merchandisable cast of ponies.

That's pretty much the only thing that makes it My Little Pony; that the cast is made up of ponies. The character interaction is never insipid or insultingly saccharine like you would expect from a show aimed for young girls. That's been Lauren Faust's goal on just about every show she's worked on. Just because it's for kids, doesn't mean it can't be good.

Opinions, that are valid, just like my opinion that the show is shit is valid. The only difference between the two is that most of the MLP fandom spews their shitty opinions out religiously and goes on to claim that I don't have a hold of my masculinity or sexuality because I dont enjoy a show made for 5 year old girls. I have seen two episodes of the show, and I think it is a shitty show. Let me have my own opinion, just like I let you have yours.

Also, this post is really against the people who post a MLP gif every chance they get, not really against people here, unless you there are people who do that here. If so, then fuck you people.
