So, since I doubt anytime soon that crashpunk will be doing a 99 run on AO (I know he's busy with exams, but I think he's too much of a pussy to do it ) I was thinking of doing one myself, since I've always wanted to do an LP of Oddworld anyway, I did try an LP of Rumble Racing a while back but I got bored with it very quickly simply because of how annoying things got in post production, however, I have things planned out for an AO run, since things will be much easier using a screen recorder, so, do you guys think I should go ahead and give it a try?

The only other thing I have to mention really is that I sound quite retarded on a microphone, my voice in real life sounds totally different to how it does on a mic.

Ah don't worry about your voice. I've heard you before on a mic and you sound much better than I do and I still make videos with my voice in them. I say go for it, always enjoy these Oddworld Let's Plays.

I found a way to capture the PC version of AO with decent audio and video quality, and also my voice using Fraps, with the correct sound levels - And also since I'm still using an old 17" TFT I could capture it with the correct aspect ratio as well. Since I also know the game very well I decided to try my own run - Except that I'm missing one thing:

Personality.

If you want to do a decent Lets Play that people will watch and enjoy, you really have to have the personality for it - Unfortunately I don't.

You need to be able to give trivia about the game, give whoever is watching a decent commentary, make jokes about the situation, tell people your train of thought... Whereas my commentary is boring "Oh crap I died" or "Okay you, Mudokon! Come with me!" "Well that's 3 rescued!" "Okay, gotta avoid this slig here... Oh shit bombs, lets jump over them... Careful now... Shit I blew up." or "Crap I woke up the slig and got shot. Dammit! Oh well, start over."

Of course not having the right personality doesn't stop others from making lets plays, but making them entertaining to watch is really difficult - So bear that in mind if you try.

Reviewing and editing footage is a lengthy process and I didn't feel there would be enough interest in this to make it worth the time investment I'd put into this - Don't let that put you off either though if you feel what you can produce will be interesting enough to make it worth doing.

Well I've done 2 recordings as a basic test, and most of it so far is pretty much me explaining what I'm doing, so if I go ahead in this, will remember your advice.

I'd do one, DarkHoodness, but I'm terrible at AO. I've never gotten all the Muds before.

Everyone else should, so I can envy their skill I mean learn to not suck.
