Lacking Their Own Wisdom
A couple of months ago I felt a swelling in at the back of my mouth under my bottom teeth. It wasn't bothering me so I just thought nothing of it.
In the last month the swelling has gotten larger and they started to hurt when touched.
This week, they have gotten bigger and now I can't eat without a lot of pain in the right side of my mouth. I wanted to get it checked but I've been so busy, I haven't had the time to see a doctor.
So today I went in to book an appointment, "We only have room for the nurse practitioner who can see minor illnesses" said the receptionist.
I said "Well I don't know if it's a minor illness, this is why I'm here to find out!" I then explained to the receptionist about the swelling in my mouth
She hands me a piece of paper and asks if I had any illnesses on the list.
"Might be swollen glands" I said, "Sore throat?" "No, Swollen glands, I think, again, I don't know, this is why I'm here to find out, I don't know what I got, I'm here for a diagnoses"
So my appointment with the nurse was booked, when I saw her, I explained the problem.
She asked to examine my mouth and as soon as she looked she seen the swelling I mentioned.
Her suggestion was that I book a dentist appointment as she thinks my wisdom teeth might be trying to come through but are growing the wrong way which is what is causing the problems in my mouth.
Now, I know other people who have had the same problem, and have had to have surgery to have the teeth removed, so, my prediction is, as soon as my academic year is over, I'll probably be in hospital.
What sort of bloody nonsense is it calling them wisdom teeth if the damn things don't grow the right way!
