Our screwy new coinage.

I know this really was ages ago, but they are finally making their way into mass circulation.

I don't like them. I liked the old ones. That is all.

As long as the pounds are still nice and thick. Those were awesome.

Um, weren't those the 2008 set of special edition coins for that year only?

I hope that they never change £2 coins. They're my favorite.

That's a pretty cool idea for coins. Kinda like the covers of the paperback edition of the Hitchiker's Guide books.

But that's not going to stop me banning you for posting your blog and pushing The Greatest Blog Ever off the front page.

I'm pretty certain there have been dozens of different cover designs for H2G2 paperbacks.

Some of those coins don't look so bad, like the 10p and 50p. The 20p and penny pieces irk me.

Probably. Google images didn't provide me what I needed.

The ones I'm talking about were segmented in to four corners, each with a quarter of a picture in them. Putting the four books (as there only were four at the time) together gave a full picture. Rearranging them gave three other pictures.

That is gay. They couldn't think up anything more original than the shield from the coat-of-arms so they just make it bigger and stick it across all of 'em.

Still, they probably thought they were being clever.

I think they're pretty cool. T'was good for a year. I've made a few attempts to collect the set but I always get lazy and spend 'em.

I've got those ones. And 'Mostly Harmless' - Book Five in the Trilogy of Four.

Looks cool all together. Separately, it looks ugly as sin with the exception of the £1 and the 5p.

Nice concept, shame about the result.

I have never seen a single one of these coins.

Being a scientist, I decide to obtain some quantitative data behind my claim, and I discovered that my wallet contains coins from this set: 5.9% by frequency, 3.3% by mass, 0.2% by monetary value.

Somebody smart work out the exact coin contents of my wallet. =D
