My turn

I had to go to the doctors today. To get some medicine. I hate going to the doctors, sometimes I get butterflies but this time wasn't so bad, I just wanted to get in and out and then go home back to bed to do whatever it is I do. What should have been a ten minute wait took fifty minutes. In that time I made some observations of the people that were subscribing to the same dismal waiting room as me. There was a woman with two young children and she couldn't keep them under control, the youngest kept tearing around the little room peaking in the corridors and stuff, then there was another mother with a child a little older who made an effort to crawl underneath everyone's chairs while running a vocal monologue on the course of events. He was narrating a story to himself on the fly about a train crash or something. Kid mumbled too much. Then there was a pair of old people who just stared at the children the whole time they were there like they wanted to suck the life out of them, or that they were envious of their energy or something.
I don't understand why the NHS thinks it's a good idea to have waiting rooms. Put a bunch of sick people together with another bunch of sick people and let them cough on each other and pick their noses and wipe the residue on their chairs. I wasn't even ill, but I probably will be now. They should have waiting pods or waiting cells. small cubicles, two metres tall and one metre wide, they should be shiny and white and inside they should be illuminated, there should be a chair and quiet music playing and all the while they should pump gaseous disinfectant into the chamber to stop you from infecting everyone else.
But then, I don't like spending unnecessary amounts of time with other people as well, especially if I don't know them or don't like them and they simply can't be ignored. So being in a small room with lots of sick strangers isn't fun. And now I have a headache. I must be coming down with something already.
I'm bored too.
