I had been away from the board for some time when it all happened, but I was still pretty shaken by it as well, so I joined the others at The Glass Asylum. I'm no longer bitter about the whole mess. But for posterity's sake, here's my stance on what happened:
I do understand the reasoning behind revoking Sydney's administrator rights - she was being unneccesarily harsh toward certain members. But the OWF is just an online forum, not a country or a even a town whose inhabitants you have to protect. Just a forum. And it did belong to Sydney after all, dictatorial behavior or not.
Anyway, I am not bitter anymore. I stopped being bitter years ago, because, well, it's just an online forum after all. However, I still do find the decisions made back then somewhat distasteful.
In fact, I am happy to see that OWF still survives, while The Glass Asylum has long ago turned to dust. It was the first online forum that I ever joined, ans it still has a special place in my heart.
...Just don't go looking up my old posts, 'mkay? I was a young idiot back then...
For anyone who's interested, I've got some screenshots of TGA's various designs. It went through a ridiculous number of redesigns during its brief existence. These are low-quality versions - the originals were too large to upload.
Notes on the designs
#1 - Original design. The one element that stayed through all designs was the flower.
#2 - Nobody liked this design. It didn't stay long.
#3 - I've actually nothing interesting to say about this one.
There was also a fourth, circus-styled design. After that the board disappeared for a while. Then Sydney brought it back with a... colourful design, after which TGA vanished forever.
Some of the old regulars can actually still be found at
The Church of Pokey (formerly The Stonage Repository). Although that place looks to be mostly dead these days, too.
I'm still around on the internet. You may encounter me these days as Albertosaurus Rex, or via older accounts which bear names like CP and Qlberts. It's been a great time here, but I've moved on.
