Don't you hate it when people post obnoxious text at the top of their blog and you have to scroll past it every time you want to read what they've posted? Man, I really hate that.

Courgette of POWAR!!!

A courgette, (AKA. Zucchini, for all those who live in a country where they don't speak or teach English English) is a vegetable that I can't say I'm particularly fond of.
When my mum cooks it as a vegetable to go in the typical English meal formula (Potato product + Vegetable or salad + Some form of meat product) it just sort of sits on the edge of my plate, all limp and slimy, clinging feebly to the insides of its skin like an old person trying to conceal his nakedness with a face cloth and half a water biscuit, and I can't say I'm all that inspired to ingest it. I tend to leave it to a vague, middlish part of the meal and then gulp it down suddenly in the hope of taking my stomach and tongue by surprise.
on the other hand, if cooked as part of a dish, I don't mind it, possibly cus thanks to all the other stuff around it, I am aware of neither texture nor taste.
BUT, I have recently discovered something amazing, which is as follows; courgettes have magical powers!!!!
This has nothing to do with the fact that I'm currently reading Harry Potter (again) but I genuinely discovered that courgettes are magical! Here's how it goes...
1. Cook yourself a meal of your choosing, whatever floats your boat.
2. At the time that seems most appreciate, add a courgette.
3. OMIGOSH YOU MADE MEDITERRANEAN* FOOD!!!
That's right, add a courgette (or if you prefer, a zucchini) to ANYTHING and it instantly becomes Mediterranean food!
For example, I discovered this phenomena when making Spaghetti Bolognaise and added a courgette (as you do) and my Italian food became Mediterranean (and I'm already getting sick of typing that word).
This theory is believed (though as-yet untested) to work with:
Pizza
Egg fried rice
Curry (ugh)
Cheeseburgers
And many more!
So there ya go, desperate for some Meditterreeneaen (blarg) food? Then make whatever you like and add a magical courgette (or a magical zucchini - whatever floats your boat really).
