-I HAVE ONE!!

Yes today I had a interview for a IT Apprentice and to much surprise, it got in! I start Monday as well.

I'm chuffed to bits. I get to do something I really like and get paid for it. I was really hating the idea of working in retail or sales so I'm glad I have this.

Oh and now I can tell the Job Center to stuff it. i hated it there anyway.

-Edit: So it turns out this 'Apprentice' I'm on, I need to find a placement before I actually get paid... So they do things the other way round... great.

I hate that word. 'Centre' looks misspelt to me, where as 'Center' looks more like how people say it.

Centre is so spelt because of the 18th century descriptivists such as Samuel Johnson. Although center is an American spelling, it's actually rooted in history, supposedly from the old French center which appeared around the 14th century which in turn comes from latin.

Many spellings recorded by Johnson were phonological or rooted in French, Latin, Greek and Germanic languages...subsequently it's a spelling which is probably a bit out of date, but then so is most of the English language really.

Yes, but the correct spelling is clearly 'centre' and anyone who says otherwise should be placed in a very large cannon and fired over the Atlantic Ocean to America.

In other news, well done, Crash! When I fire you to America, can I have the job instead?

Well I've finished my first day. It was really overwhelming. I got so much information launched at me, it was hard to take it all in. I guess that's normal and I'll get used to it.
