So this is something that's been bothering me for a while. Why were there so many people online at this one specific time? was there some Stranger-related article recently published, or was it just random? Anyone know?

OWI and subsequently OWF were a lot more active back then, with lots of speculation about next projects and Stranger was released a year earlier. Lot of guests, lot of members, lot of search engines.

That was over a year since OWI shut down their studio and a couple of months before they announced Citizen Siege. I can't think that there was all that much going on. Probably vBulletin just counted every single web crawler.
