I bought a lemon.
Well, my first car has turned out to be a right dud. It has broken down on me 3 times so far!
The first time it broke down, it was snowing, I stalled the car, and couldn't get it started again, I put it down to the cold weather.
Second time, I was in work, on a rainy night, when suddenly I loose all my electrics, so I had to drive back to Dominos with my head out the drivers window as I had no lights and no wipers. I left my car at Dominos overnight and went back the next morning with a new battery to fit, so I fit the new battery, then noticed that there was a snapped fanbelt sitting on top of my alternator. So what happened was that the fanbelt snapped, so the alternator wasn't charging the battery, therefore my lights and wipers drained the battery.
3rd time was yesterday, I pulled off and the car started to judder, I just thought I didn't use the clutch properly, but no, the car continued to judder and I could get no power out of the engine. So I pulled onto the side of the road and there was a loud bang, I got out, there was a horrid smell and a spluge of oil behind my car.
So I got a family member to drive down, being stuck on the side of the road in the freezing rain is not cool, I completely lost it, I started to shout and swear, and kick everything in sight including the car. I know what happened, but instead of going to technical details, I basically gave the car a temporary fix by driving it home without the dipstick.
This week I have forked out £190 getting both driveshafts replaced on it, and a whole shed load of money on mechanical bits, but tonight in work, I had a bit of a shock.
I was in work, just made a delivery, I was about to go back to my car when a guy stops me and tells me he has the service history of my very car as it used to belong to his wife.
He then informed me that 2 years ago he sold the car for scrap...
Says it all really, I've been contemplating getting a new car, but now my mind is made up...
