Interesting, but why aliens would limit their flight to a daily hour-long window is anyone's guess. And why would they fly in such patterns? And why is my head itchy?

BM, you're quite the insect enthusiest. Enlighten me. What is your hypothesis on this "bug"?

And I don't actually think it's an alien. I just think it's interesting, whatever it is.

This recent UFO sighting in Scotland was more interesting.

People need to stop jumping to conclusions though. I dunno what UFOs are but they probably aren't anything to do with aliens.

I want to fly one of those fuckers. Scratch that, aliens are cunts.

Hopkinsville alien story gave me nightmares for about a week.

Fuck those aliens.

Video cameras must convert information from a three-dimensional world into a a two-dimensional format. This results in a loss of information, and thus optic illusions. Such as being unable to show how far away a small, fast moving object is. Flies can be very hard to see outside, we usually only spot them when our eyes are following their trajectory, and they usually aren't going top speed then anyway. How often have you tried to swat a flie in your home, even, and completely lost it for minutes at a time even as you still hear it? Small and fast. Outside they may even be wind assisted. Stick a video camera outside on a bright day, point it at the sky, you're damn likely to get some insects that you'll only see frame by frame.

So both filming attempts got one. They couldn't be seen with the naked eye for their speed, no radar picked them up and the aviation expert couldn't think of a single aircraft or other aerial entity worth the attentions of an aviation expert that correlated with it.

It's a flying insect.

Unidentified Flying Object

which is exactly what this is.

And it looked to big to be any insect that I know of. And plus, wouldn't they have seen these types of things often if it was just a bug?

Yeah, I'm aware of what the abbreviation means. Emphasis on "Unidentified". :P That doesn't tell anyone squat about what unidentified FOs are until someone investigates them and declares them as IFOs with plausible evidence.

The Denver denizens(Denverzens?)? I understand that they're not easy to see with the naked eye, but you would think someone would have seen one long before if it were something naturally occuring.

And it looks way too big to be just a bug. Again, I'm no insect expert, but I don't think insects that big hang around the denver. And if they didn, I'm sure someone would have noticed them.

You're all forgetting once crucial piece of this puzzle..,

... people from Denver are morons.

Also, I'm with BM on this one. Almost all video anomalies, be they alien crafts, ghosts, or my outrageous favorite, rods, can be explained by naturally occurring things that are anything but out of the ordinary.

Yes, this is a UFO, in the most technical sense of the acronym. It is a flying object we can't definitively identify. However, I highly doubt it's a couple of aliens idling in their cruiser in plain sight for the hell of it.

I guess you're right. I just want them to be aliens so bad, I'll make myself believe anything.

Still doesn't seem like it'd be just a bug though.

It's size (and altitude) is an illusion. That's the whole point.

As for not seeing them, I expect people see them all the time but don't care to register them. They're bugs. This incident is different because someone caught it on film and made a media-friendly fuss about the fuzzy pixels.

Yup. This is definitely a bug. It worries me that BM even needed to say that.

The report is really quite wierd. The vague 'glitchy' animation and sound effects as the official statements are put on the screen make it sound like they could be unreliable. And I'd be prepared to bet money that the line "As it fits the definition, it's an Unidentified Flying Object" was not unprompted. Probably even pushed.
