So I got fired about two months ago...

...And it was my own damn fault. I won't share how here, because it was monumentally careless of me. Nothing big, just my own stupidity.

Anyway, I have a job interview tomorrow for a call centre. A friend of mine suggested it, as I can just do the training for 5 weeks full time and look for an alternative job or stick with it for awhile. It's one of those "we will hire you as long as you aren't a mass murderer" types of places.

You can make a career out of those places. God knows, I did.

I have a few friends who work at call centres. Don't make a career out of it - they're soul destroying.

The reputation for this place as a nice, hell, a bearable workplace is absolutely nonexistent. I'm thinking I'll just work there until Retail places are looking for Seasonal people, switch to that, and either keep going if they don't let me go or start factory work again. I'd really prefer the latter, as it actually kept me fucking occupied and moving. Sitting at a desk answering calls all day is fucking poison to me.

Well, convicted mass murderers. Though I can't say that I recall ever admitting anything. Just subtle hints.

Employees at call centers have literally no soul, I swear when I worked in one a few years back, in the staff room, they seemed devoid of life.

But that may be just here, I'm pretty sure you won't be bored to tears. I got sacked from mine though, I didn't handle a problematic customer as well as I should've. I still think I won, though.

Just don't let the higher ups take advantage of you, but once again, that may just be here. Good luck with it, anyway.

hey it's a job, something like one in seven people in the united states live in poverty now so it's hard to find any kind of work these days and we all know college doesn't help.

It's not Teletech, is it? You don't want to work for Teletech.

No, it's Stream International. The training takes a month, but it's paid and requires very, very little actual work aside from your attendance. This isn't a place I plan on staying at longer than 3 months, but it's easy money for at least 30 days which is exactly what I need to find another job.
