Why living in the cuts is a good thing.

We recently moved to a house in the cuts.

'The cuts' is a slang term for 'the middle of fucking no where'.

My nearest neighbor is a mile and a half away, my dog has a full fenced acre to romp around in, and other than my girlfriend, there is no one to sneer at my nearly constant nudity.

Also, I saw an opossum fight with a raccoon whilst sitting on my porch a couple of hours ago. There was no real winner. It wasn't even much of a fight. There was just a lot of hissing, growling and screaming.

The 'possum ultimately pulled its signature move and...Played possum. Curious as to how long it would last, I watched it for a few minutes. Apparently aware of my presence [the 'coon had since grown bored and left] it continued to play dead.

So I did what anyone else would do-


...I poked it with a stick.

I envy you. I would love to live somewhere where my nearest neighbor is at least a mile away. It's not that I'm a misanthrope or anything (well, kinda), but like you said, there's that bullshit with neighbors that you don't have to put up with. No one would be complaining about our poultry or that we don't keep our lawn in impeccable shape.

I'd still sneer at your constant nudity, Max.

Out of curiosity, DI, is the place you live named after an old lady? My friends and I have a theory that any place named Doreen or Agnes has to be in the middle of fuck-all-nowhere. Just wondering whether that holds true in whereveryouare.

Actually, the house does have a name.

Nothing quite so geriatric as Agnes or Doreen, sadly.
