No, not with combustible lemons.

Extension cord reels are meant to be used for the garden, but I've seen some people use them in their homes as substitutes for power strips.

Seriously, they are NOT joking when they say "Extend fully before use". My friend was powering a dryer off of one of these for about 3 months while it was mostly coiled - It got so hot that the hub melted and it fused together inside. The only thing that stopped it bursting into flames was that the plug fuse blew after it short-circuited.

Safety instructions are important, yo.

Yeah, you should never use a coil that way, especially not on such high power machines.

Oh dear, the only time I ever have to use an extension coil is when I'm using the lawnmower, and I only ever roll that out to the length I need just to reach the end of the gardens.

But I have one set up in my bedroom, goona roll it out all the way now, it's been here for years not fully rolled.

Yeah they're perfectly safe when they're fully unwound. Just as I said, they risk overheating when not. More expensive ones have more safety features than cheap ones to prevent this happening, though.
