Game Concept
Gold, glory, and powerful magic. This is what the Adventurers of Berathen seek in their dangerous escapades across the world. From the abandoned 'Poison Tower' magic academy to the blood-filled crypts of the Vampire Queen Tenebrous. These life-risking marauders of the land will stop at nothing to get what they seek. Many of them die trying to overcome poison-tipped traps, terrible monsters, and cruel dark magic. I asked one of these Adventurers why he was so willing to throw his life away and he simply replied, "Because it's fun."

The player will control a single adventurer who can team up with computer controlled mercenaries or other players to explore dungeons. The player will start out with basic abilities that can be improved upon or s/he can choose to obtain new abilities and improve upon those. With multiple abilities and types of disciplines to choose from the player has a vast, diverse pool to choose from when customizing their character. In every dungeon there are tons of hidden magical items just waiting to be found. These items also increase the character's stats allowing him/her to choose what armor they fill benefits their play style the most.

Feature Set
*Simple, smooth movement allowing for the character to explore the dungeons flawlessly.
*Attack combos and abilities easily executed with a single button.
*An inventory system with limited space requiring the adventurer to choose carefully what items he/she brings on his/her journey.
*A special combo system that does extra damage depending on what element the enemy is, what abilities you use, and what magic you end the combo with.
*Stealth quests that require careful movement to avoid powerful enemies. Shadows will hide your presence.

Genre
The genre is Action RPG. It is a innovative top down view dungeon crawling game.

Target Audience
Anyone interested in the old dungeon crawling experience. Simple controls to ease in new players, but unique discipline and combo systems fun for hardcore customizers.

Game Flow
The game starts out throwing you into a Haunted Mansion. A fellow adventurer shows you how to vanquish foes if you're incapable to do so. The rooms you first enter start out with simple puzzles and obstacles teaching the player how to play the game. As the character levels up and gains access to more abilities the traps and enemies become more dangerous.

Look and Feel
The game features an art style that seems inviting and playful, yet at the same time oddly gothic. Attacking and movement are incredibly simple, but stringing together combos becomes a complex art.

Objectives
For each dungeon the objective is to reach the boss at the end and to vanquish it. There is lots of treasure to be collected throughout the dungeons and facing the end bosses will be some what difficult without some of it. In the end the player will see that Chaos is taking over the world. It's up to the player to decide if they'll assist Chaos, fight it back, or simply ignore it.

Movement
As the game is a top view game the player moves horizontally and vertically across the ground. Certain abilities grant jumping, but it isn't necessary in order to move around the world.

Objects
There will be many boxes, chests, doors, and traps the player will interact with. Some boxes will need to be moved in order to access certain parts of a dungeon. Though the traps play a bigger part of the game. Most hindering the player's progress, but the occasional trap will actually be beneficial.

Actions
Most actions are accomplished via the 'Action' button. Climbing ladders, pulling switches, talking to npcs, etc.

Combat
In Combat the action button serves to perform the character's basic attack. As the character progresses in levels he can augment his basic attack, learn new abilities, and string these forces together to utterly destroy his opponents.

Economy
One of the main conquests of Adventurers is gold. They take the rare artifacts they find across the world and sell them to Aristocrats for every gold piece they can get their hands on. There are also missions you can partake in to earn a little extra spending cash.

There are lots of vendors throughout the game happy to take your hard earned gold from you in return for weapons, armor, and other crafts.

Back Story
The world of Berathen is one filled with constant strife. The very aspects of Light, Dark, and Chaos battle to claim the souls of the planet's inhabitants. In this war-torn world many seek to find their fortune through war effort. Others feel that war is a waste of time. These country deserters are known as Adventurers. Adventurers prefer to take things into their own hands. Manipulating their connections between factions to do what they find most profitable. For this young Adventurers are viewed as disgusting vermin, but those Adventurers who cover themselves in wealth become rulers of the very lands they deserted.

There are multifarious ways for Adventurers to make money, but the quickest way is the raiding... exploring of dungeons. While to a Vampire Lord intruding into his castle is heinous, but to his slaved subjects you are a hero. If in the process of murdering the Vampire... liberating the people you happen to find a couple of golden goblets... well he won't be needing them anymore will he?

World
The world of Berathen is quite similar to Earth in atmosphere and its ability to hold life, but is in a far away galaxy. The planet is quite diverse in types of land. Dungeons to explore just behind every corner.
