For those few of you keeping track of my employment history, I got confirmation today that I didn't get that job. I still have one on the boil that I should find out about in the next day or so and the agency said they'd ring a new place and see what their hiring status is.

Woot.

I don't have a PS3. Therefore, I must gain some sort of vicarious enjoyment from suggesting this to you. I suspect you and Abbey will enjoy it.

So, regular readers would remember that I was recently bitching about a recruitment agent.

He hadn't rung me back with the response for the job, so I rang him and someone else answered the phone. Apparently he "is no longer working for the company". Woot.

I mentioned this in the copy-paste thread and thought I'd share here. I was looking through some old facebook photos and came across one which had the tag line:
and that led me to think of the scene from the first Austin Powers movie where it came from. Unfortunately, all I could find on Youtube was the same scene dubbed to German but I know the dialog well enough that I can laugh along. Somehow it get an extra level...

I had an interview this morning for a job I really wanted. I came out feeling hesitantly positive; I thought I'd come across well enough that they'd hire me as long as none of the other candidates had more experience with specific technologies.

Then the recruitment agent called. Apparently I didn't come across as being enthusiastic about the job. I can't think why on earth he got that impression. I think it will be a really good job and I am bitterly disappointed that I didn't get...
