A lot of space missions are poised for launch right now! NASA has the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter which will blast off no earlier than June 2, and the Hubble servicing mission for the Space Shuttle Atlantis is now scheduled for launch on May 11. I’ll have lots more about that soon.

The European Space Agency isn’t exactly taking it easy, either: Herschel and Planck are two astronomy missions that will launch on a single Ariane 5 rocket...

The Proud Father

Posted 04-26-2009 at 09:28 AM by Bullet Magnet
I just heard this little tale on another forum.

:
I have a 9 year old son and for much the same reasons as Hitchens sends his daughter to a quaker school, my son goes to a catholic school here in Canada. Essentially, the school was closer, it was brand new, there was much better equipment and offered a French immersion starting at grade 4.

Professor PZ Myers brought this to my attention over at Pharyngula

A member of the Discovery Institute sent an invitation (or rather, a request to be invited) to debate intelligent design to Professor Nicolas Gotelli at the University of Vermont.

:
Dear Professor Gotelli,

I saw your op-ed in the Burlington Free Press and appreciated your support of free speech at UVM. In light of that, I wonder if you would be open to finding a way to provide a
