The person who uploaded this then wrote:

Also, all of my school items smell like gasoline. Do any of you peeps have any good methods or advice on how to get rid of it? Burning doesn't count.

Leave them out in the fresh air for a few hours petrol evaporates pretty quickly.

Why do they smell like that?

I put my book bag in my mother's car trunk. She went to fill a tank with gas and it tipped and spilled some on my stuff.

Thanks. It's pretty frosty here right now, so I was thinking maybe a hair dryer would work.
