If you have forty minutes to spare, I strongly advise you to spend them watching this video. To some, I'm sure it is preaching to the choir, but it never hurts to ensure you are remaining vigilant. Watch it, learn it, pass it on, and stop the madness.

Though it's mainly very good, I must say he's not above using a few bogus techniques himself. Also, try to ignore the music over the end credits. It's all in your head.

I am not spending forty minutes of my life to learn about something I have an average graded As level in.

Hmm. I notice people are far more willing to watch four sequential ten minute videos of a forty minute show than a single forty minute video.

Most people fully accept paranormal and pseudoscientific claims without critique as they are promoted by the mass media. Here Be Dragons offers a toolbox for recognizing and understanding the dangers of pseudoscience, and appreciation for the reality-based benefits offered by real science.

It includes debunking specific pseudosciences only as examples. It mainly focuses on sorts of events (deceptively rare coincidences) and mental quirks (eg confirmation bias) that mess up our critical thinking, and a lot of surprisingly common hokey advertising techniques (red herrings, appeals to authority) that can tempt the best of us if we turn off our brains for even a moment.
