Need some help from a guy who knows a lot about computers.

Right, I'm desperate.

I just upgraded from 512mb of RAM to 1.5gb, thinking it would improve gaming a LOT. It has indeed made a difference, I can run a few with higher settings, yet eventually it won't be ready for the high graphic games. Disappointed at not being able to have full settings still, I found out the processor helps. Yes, I was stupid. =/

Currently I have this crappy AMD Sempron Processor 3200+ at 1.8ghz. It's pretty much shite. And I'm looking to upgrade it for at least Christmas. How do I find out which ones my motherboard will hold?

I was under the impression your amount of system RAM and your processor WERE your motherboard, but don't take my word for it, ask an expert.

The motherboard is the huge chip which holds all the batteries, the video card, graphics card, RAM, etc. It basically controls everything on the whole PC. I think.

You need to open the computer, find out what motherboard you have (or check the manuals that came with the computer) then google it. The manufacturer's website will probably have a list of supported chips.

Well first you need to find out what motherboard you have, check out either the website of the people that made it or find out on a search engine, basicly what Nate said, then that might tell you which chips will go with the mother board, and yes like you said, the motherboard basicly controls the computer with the little things that are inside it, without a motherboard you would not have a computer!
