Every time the thought occurs to you, you suffer an unpleasant twinge in the base of your spine, which has subtlety conditioned you not to think of it.

This was my doing. A tiny implant in your brain stem no larger than a wheat grain. I wouldn't get it scanned or removed or anything, I'm not entirely sure how it will respond. The machine I constructed that manufactured it seems to have a life of its own. That's what you get for following mysteriously transmitted plans, I guess.

It may be conditioning other behaviours, too, and possibly some gradual physiological modifications. These were not my intention and are currently beyond my control. No hard feelings, right?
