New school and such...

Posted 08-19-2008 at 11:36 AM by alf's brother's mate
Seeing that this September I am moving schools, I wanted to just forenote that my presence in the forums may decline, as I will have much more Homework and after school studies to do.

In addition to this, obviously nervousness is a normal thing in moving to a completley new enviroment, but i was just wondering if anyone here had any tips on moving schools to share with me.

It would be nice, because up to now i have never moved house, nor changed to a school where I didn't really know anyone. All comments appreciated, unless they are ruuudde.

How old are you, and do you still do marching band or any other extra curricular?

I'm thirteen, and I do "out of school" saxophone playing.

I'm guessing you mean a marching band or a civic/community band. Musical organizations are always welcoming crowds. I moved around a lot when I was younger, though still being a child, I didn't mind it as much. Just keep the main focus on your grades, be friendly, and see what happens. If sports aren't your flavor, try doing more academic things like a forensics/speech team or a scholastic quiz team. Musical is also great, though there's more of a hierarchy there.

Max, It's Birkdale, the private one just down the road from broomhill.

Enjoy your saxophone. It certainly is a wonderful instrument.

Anyway, tips for moving? Just the obvious crap - try and make friends and behave for the new teachers so that life's easy for them (benefits to you too - they'll give you less hassle).

All the best with this, anyway. Change can be hard.

I didn't know you lived in the UK. Eh, I don't think it makes too much difference.

Hahaha. Birkdale. I have walked past it on numerous occasions, usually on my way between Ranmoor House and Waitrose. I’m in Crookes next year. No need to go near you at all.
