I stream Japanese anime but when the stream is broken I am forced to go to youtube and watch the American versions. DX

I dunno. I just prefer watching it on TV for some reason. I suppose just because I'm used to doing it that way.

Also, what's the allure of watching anime in subtitles with the orignal Japanese dub? I never understood that.

Far less annoying than the Americaqn voices, lemme tell ya.

I never really felt that way about it, with anime at least. But I'll give it another shot.

Once you've heard the Japanese dubs you can never really go back to English American, it just sounds wrong.

And yeah, I prefer watching stuff on TV, shame that my digital is only mildly better than terrestrial.

I've tried watching anime in Japanese before though, and I didn't see what's so great about it. I don't really know the language, so how can I judge the tone of voice? Taken from an American perspective, the female characters sound ditzy and Barbie-ish and the masculine males sound like Italian sports fans.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose, from the Naruto, Bleach and Death Note episodes I've watched with American dubs everyone seems to sound like spoilt Californian teens or emotionless zombies.

Sub = Yay.

I agree, those are terrible dubs. Death Note not so much, but it's still not great. I guess over the years I've come to recognize what emotions and personality traits are being displayed in even the hollowest of dubs, so I don't mind it as much. Strangely enough, I can't stand to watch a dubbed non-english film. Cowboy Bebop actually has a decent "American" dub and I highly recomend it to any of you who haven't already seen it.
