Big Blog Fridays #6 - Peculiar Pronunciations

Hello everybody, I am TheManFromMudos, and I'm back again with another of Friday's Big Blogs. Now today, I'd like to talk to you, believe it or not, about the mis-pronunciation of some words within the Oddworld universe. The example I'm going to use is the word 'Mudokon', as I believe it's probably the most difficult word for non-Oddworld fans to pronounce on first sight.

Now, as you will likely already know, the word 'Mudokon' is usually pronounced as either 'Muh-dock-un' or 'Moo-dock-un' when it appears in official Oddworld media. But, not surprisingly, within my closest dozen or so friends, not one of them has ever heard of Oddworld at all. So when a word like 'Mudokon' is presented to them, things get pretty interesting. I've heard all sorts, believe me. 'Muh-duck-un','Muh-doh-k'un', 'Mud-uh-con. The list goes on, and even extends to the names of other Oddworldian species (Can you believe one of my friends thought that 'Vykker' was pronounced the same as 'vicar'?).

So, my big question for you today is this: Does anyone you know have a strange way of pronouncing words like 'Mudokon' and 'Vykker'? Or perhaps you yourself sometimes have a slip of the tongue every now and then, the odd 'Scarab' intead of 'Scrab' (another common mistake)?
