So you're saying that in a forum supposidly dedicated to discussing Oddworld, the already established plot elements and in-universe canon regarding a game that has not been released do not count as grounds for speculation?

Another example: JobMcYossie wants a FPS whereas it would have been, in fact, a sidescrolling platformer.

Nothing I said in my original post signified what I wanted out of the game, but what I believed may have come out of the game based on 1) what was previously revealed about Sligstorm, 2) the fact that with each new Oddworld game, while it kept the same basic mechanics, always added one or two new mechanics to solve puzzles with, 3) what we know of the in universe lore regarding sligs in the hierarchy, 4) what we know of the in universe lore of sligs natural temperment.

Nothing I said contrasts with what the potential gameplay would have been, and still might be like. Remember, when OWI had that poll ages ago asking which game(s) we, the fans, would like to see them make, Sligstorm was on the poll, which leads me to believe Sligstorm is still in the barrel of "things to potentially make" for Lorne.

The post itself, was there to see what other people thought of what I deducted would have been involved in Sligstorm based on the above.

Most of the thread, in itself, and any thread discussing a game that has not yet been released, but we do in fact have information about it to go off of, is speculation. It becomes fanfiction once we've already received the game or content or a lengthy explaination of the story via the creator in its entirety, but people take what is factual in universe, like Abe being Alf's friend, and turn him into his rival because they like the idea of that happening in a story where it didn't.

I understand how you can interpret it as fanfiction, but it definitely sounds like we have different understandings of what exactly fanfiction is.
