Stress 'N' Guitars

Posted 11-10-2015 at 04:30 AM by abe619
Okay, so apparently, suddenly I can get actual ideas for guitar now, and also suddenly, apparently I can do that gay thing people always calling "Expressing one's own self through music", as apparently I for the first time successfully played guitar while stressed and almost paranoid actually and it actually made me feel alot better.

Also, apparently (Cause apparently I love saying "Apparently") I use this blog whenever I Feel slightly stressed and wanna let it out to people who'll probably maul the living fuck out of me but still manage to support me somehow.

I saw a blog post earlier about all the people who left, and I really do miss my more active days in this place and I miss the community, I really wish all those who left good luck.

Without further ado, the product of my stress last week:

Meh, ambient. At least it's better than dubstep.

In love with this.

Do you ever listen to post-rock music, Abe619? I feel like you're getting some real inspiration from Mogwai/GY!BE or something...

It is, isn't it?
And @STM, No but I have listened to the more ambient stuff from Buckethead like electric tears, and I haven't listened to much post-rock, but I'm in love with God is an Astronaut, my friend and band mate showed them to me, I especially love their song "Echoes".

And I guess, one of the things that were inspiring me while recording that track was the album "Dark side of the moon" by Pink Floyd, and Pink Floyd in general for that matter, especially "Breathe", I totally failed with the solo part near the end though. xD I couldn't think of anything better to do so I uploaded it like that, I'm more of a rhythm guy than a solo guy, that's part of why I sorta like ambient stuff.

You should listen to "Mladic" and "East Hastings", two songs by Godspeed You that, imo, are particularly good. If this is the genre of music you want to play then music like this might help you develop. I really liked it so keep updating on your blog if you make any more music that's similar.

I liked both Mogwai and GY!BE, I plan on doing more stuff like that but I'm also hoping I can make heavier stuff as well.

I am originally a Metalhead after all. xD

Maybe you should listen to bands like Opeth then? In terms of inspiration. Sludge metal is sometimes semi-ambient.

Do you like Neurosis or Isis? They're like Mogwai only metal. They merge the beauty and fuzzy atmosphere of post-rock with the crushing heaviness of metal.

Also I've been working on similar music lately. Let me know if you want to collaborate, think that could be pretty fun.

They sound great, but I feel a bit weird with me being an Arab and a Muslim and them being called "Isis". xD

Anyway, about the collaboration, I'd love that.
Give me your skype, kik, facebook, or just anything to contact you by.
