That is tragic. This is the heaviest, most depressing thing that affected anyone I personally know. Reading alone makes me feel like shit. I can't believe how are you and Stephanie still holding up, I deeply respect both of you. It's safe to say that you have our full support at OWF. Christ that's disgusting. I don't know what to say to you of course, except that all you can do I guess is to support her and not to push her to make either/ or decision. I don't want to insult your people skills but I don't think threatening to kill the guy in front of her is wise either (if you do that), it would probably create an aggressive atmosphere and might trigger those emotions she experience to come back up.

Also don't take it that she couldn't trust you for not telling you or anything of the sort. I can imagine telling you was a confusing and conflicting idea to go through with. :/

I totally understand your situation by the way (to an extent), I won't go into the details of why but I wan't to beat the shit out of someone for similar (not quite as terrible) reasons. All you can do is be supportive.

Yeah that's really the best you can I think. If you're like me it's horrible for you in part because you know you can't do anything. You're fundamentally powerless and it makes you feel like you can't look after her. All you can do is vow to make sure nothing of the sort ever happens again, or at the very least to continue to protect her as best you can when needs be. I don't know, fucking...I can't get my words out very well sometimes but I guess you know what I mean.

Also if you need to vent or anything, I know we don't really know each other that well but I check my facebook every day, shoot me a message if you want.

We don't really talk at all any more but for what it's worth I think (I've always thought) you're a great guy and you're doing exactly the right thing.

Does the owner not know that he's effectively harrassing her as well by demeaning her experiences? And that's even aside from the fact that he has a legal requirement to provide a safe workplace.

I don't know the US well enough - is there any department or organisation that the owner/company can be reported to for inappropriate business practices?

Yes that's exactly what I was talking about. Those things can go out of hand pretty quickly and you might end up "paying" a lot more than what you planned to.

The question is: "Is the worst that can happen realy worth it"?

Definitely not. On top of what you'd be doing to Steph if any harm that came to the guy was traced back to you, you'd be harming her kids and Abbey. The short term gratification of getting this guy back will not outweigh the long term pain you'd feel rotting away in prison for however long it took whilst their lives carried on.

Right now she needs you to be there for her not on trial or something.
