Fucking lord why is it always so awkward!

Well any way, yeah my Mum and Dad now know. My brother already knew but came down into the living room to show some support. Mum was fine with it, apparently she already had an inkling I might not be straight, which was a little embarrassing for some reason. Dad just rolled his eyes and went back to watching the rugby, not sure what that means.

It just sucks things won't be the same any more, like I've changed forever in their eyes, no matter what that means, I'm not the same Aidan I was thirty minutes ago. Any way yeah, so they know I'm pansexual now. What a fucking bizarre evening.

So it goes. My parents reacted much the same way, just remember they love you because you're their child.
I cannot speak for your father, but I doubt it matters much to him, in my limited experience males react in a more aloof way than females. You are his child and he loves you, that's what matters.

Good for you for showing a lot of courage and being honest with them.

Fucking hell, your dad confused the fuck outa me, I don't wether to interpret that he really don't care and it hasn't changed anything or he didn't take you seriously, that's real fucking confusing.

Problem with me was that I had to everything in fucking reverse, and try and explain to my family that I'm dating a female that has a vagina and not a penis.

My mum was a slightly difficult one. Where as dad had been asking me if I was gay for a few years. Rest of the family and extended family kind of just went "whatevs".

Even if you don't feel it now, I'm sure it will make you feel so much better and more comfortable that your family knows rather than hiding it from them. My cousin has had a boyfriend for a good 2 years and he has hidden it from his parents, and they still don't know. You must have a good relationship with your family which is great, and know they will love you no matter what, because you are their child anyway congrats for plucking up the courage and coming out

Two months ago I was asking her advice on behalf of a friend coming out to her parents as transgender.

I knew I was at least bi since I was 14 but I was also a young and confused catholic boy so I suppressed it, I'm sure I had some suggestion before then also which would pre-date my joining OWF.

It took me a little while to work out the second level of that joke...I think...because if 'hang out' isn't a double entendre then I'm confused.

From the perspective of a pansexual person, could you please tell me how it differs from being bisexual? It's something I've never understood until this day.

I think the difference between bisexuality and pansexuality depends entirely on your individual view of sex/gender and that's annoying because it can confuse people

For me bisexuality was always just men and women while pansexuality was sex/gender status doesn't matter at all. Pansexuality is essentially you're attracted to people no matter what's in their pants.
