Ray wants a job
Posted 07-20-2014 at 02:24 PM by JennyGenesis
Do excuse me being rude and occupying two spaces in the latest blog section, but this was just too good to share.
I turn up to work tonight at Dominos and I'm told that Ray had come in to apply for a job to be a delivery driver, as in our window we are advertising vacancies for part time drivers. This all happened hours before I started my shift, but he came in, said he wanted to apply, the person in the shop at the time gave him an application form, told him to fill it in and bring it back, he also said to him, when you bring it back can you attach your CV to it please, Ray then says to him "What's a CV?" So my colleague simply says "Oh, don't worry, just fill in the form and bring it back" The application form was so badly filled in that one of the people in charge of the store decided to show it to me. Firstly, he spells numerous parts of his address incorrectly. Under previous employment, he put one job which was a delivery driver for a Chinese takeaway, and under reason for leaving he put "not enought work" (sic) Under interests then he puts "Driving, snake, lizard", We were a bit confused as to what the snake and lizard part meant but we assume that they are his pets. The funniest part is what he put under education, he listed only two qualifications, English and Maths, and he had a G in both of them, now if they are his only two qualifications, how in the hell is he going to get a job, remember, for my interview with Stagecoach I first had to go sit a test which part of it was English and Maths. Now if it was somebody with dyslexia, I'd have sympathy, but it's his own fault he has very little qualifications, as numerous people who went to school with him tell me that he was a bit of a troublemaker and was excluded multiple times. Interesting, there's a question on our application form that asks "Are there any restrictions on your right to work in the UK?" He ticks yes, but then does not state what the restriction is, so probably another mistake. My boss couldn't believe just how badly it was filled in, I said to her, "You ain't goona hire him are you?" I know I'm leaving but I can't work with him, and she said no, "I'm not having people like that working here, especially after what he put you through, remember when he applied before? I made an appointment for a job interview and he didn't even turn up" I find it interesting that he has applied to work in the same place I work, last time I heard from him was in March, where three of us gave him a earbashing down the phone, he made up an excuse to hang up, and I haven't heard from him since then, so he has finally packed his grudge in? Or is he just desperate for work? |
