Youtube Newbie?

Posted 07-16-2014 at 03:20 AM by Scrabaniac
I know how Youtube works, and i know all the "famous" names that use that site, But i have never really been a Youtube Uploader because i haven't had a reason to.

Basically from the past couple of months of having my new Macbook Pro, i have been experimenting with some music software, creating HipHop/Pop Music Instrumental tracks suitable for freestyles and singing. and decided to upload it to a Youtube account. I don't have many subscribers or many views, i think the highest views on a track is 1,500.

I'm just asking for a bit of advice really, I have actually had 2 occasions with people asking to purchase some of my tracks and i have made £125 from the two combined, which isn't bad for some pretty amateur stuff. What i'm asking for is advice on how to get not necessarily more subscribers, but views? I don't really care much about subscribers, just as long as i can make people happy with the tunes i have been making

I'm not asking anyone to go ahead and watch all my videos and subscribe because that would be begging and i'm not that low. But if you are interested in Music beats and that sort of stuff then you're more than welcome to have a listen, just don't expect anything amazing as i'm not a record producer

Thank you for reading,
- Josh

There are a number of things you can do to work on spreading out and getting more views. The reason most YouTubers work for subscribers above other statistics, is that subscribers are essentially guaranteed views. If you have 80 subs and upload, that is 80 people that will have your video show in their sub box feed.

I'd suggest sharing this on some social media site rather than here though, more likely to get people who are into that type of thing.

shut up, Varrok.

You just need publicity man. No one's gonna check your stuff if they don't know it exists. Social media sites like Reddit (lots of subreddits in which people share home made tunes), Facebook, and even niche forum sites devoted to hip-hop, electronica or rap (I can't name any, but I'm sure they're out there) would be great places to get noticed on the internet.

Oh, and soundcloud, of course.

Pretend to ask for feedback when all you're doing is shameless advertising.
