This place is dead

I'm irritated because you guys didn't keep up the art appreciation thread

I have to take an art appreciation course at uni for a semester because my degree is part of the School of Humanities. I ahve very low expectations.

Art appreciation classes are boring because it's always the same handful of artists and historical art pieces and more often than not they're over interpreted. It's as bad as a literature class.

There's a difference between completely picking apart a piece of art, and sitting back and appreciating it for what it is and how it came to be. FOR SOME REASON NO ONE IN A TEACHING POSITION SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND THIS



E- I'm reminded of an in-school piano class I took once, which was more like learn about old dead composers and play some pianos all willy-nilly. I would have enjoyed that so much more if we had gotten to sit back and listen to said dead composer's pieces rather than just listen about how they were all fantastic composers and all went insane/got sick and died really fucking young.

This blog took a weird twist. I'll just go back to reading the Z thread and laughing my head off.

I wouldn't call this place entirely dead, I check it at least once a day and am still entertained by your lot's shenanigans and witty banter.

(But I suppose I'm part of the problem by lurking instead of posting, just I don't have a lot to say)

I have the results but haven't had the chance to sit down and write up a proper post with them. They're all counted and sitting in an .xlsx document. I would post that for people if they didn't mind a bare-bones ceremony but the forum doesn't accept that file attachment.

Take your time and do it properly. No rush. It'd be helpful if we have some kind of rough ETA though.

I think it's all down to Oddworld not being a thing for a long time. The company went, people lost interest in the games and therefore, the forum. It's that simple. The forum is still in that area.

However, I wouldn't call this place dead. For starters we're still posting. Dead forums have literally no more members making threads with only a few guests passing by. (I assume that's how it's like anyway)

I have a feeling more people will join once New 'N' Tasty comes out and (hopefully) is a success. But personally, I love this little community in the corner of the internet. I wouldn't have it any other way

Also. I don't want another 70 page about religion, sex ect because those threads always become shite in the end anyway.

Or OANST drags them out back and shoots them off-topic.

Actually that’s happened to a lot of threads recently.

Not going to lie, I actually prefer this to the days when I had to read 30 threads a day to stay up to date.

This place is far from dead. It was worse last year.

That said it could definitely use a lot more activity.

He left when he got a job that took up too much of his time. I think I've IM chatted with him once since then, so I guess it's true.
