As much as some of you would of loved to hear me getting killed by lightning, I didn't. Sorry.

I instead took a video of a thunderstorm tonight. I'm pretty darn chuffed with the results, So I thought I'll share them.

I need to post more to my Blog anyway.

That's quite awesome and well captured - You should make it public and tag it properly.

I've been outside all afternoon and kept hearing the storms pass in the distance. A beautiful sound. They're expected to hit here tomorrow though and are making me nervous because the ground is so dry and can't absorb a lot of rain...

I've only ever seen forked lightning twice. Maybe three times. Beautiful when you're nowhere near it.

I would, but it's not really relevant on my channel.

I don't know, it takes the piss a bit, regardless of what channel it's on.

But that's your defining trait. Embrace it like STM embraces nonstandard punctuation.

As a child I would sit at my window and watch every thunderstorm for every flash of lightning. It was amazing. Vivid forks, furious lines, the world lit up with momentary clarity.

Then at some point, the lightning stopped. I'm not saying it continued, only appearing less impressive to my more experienced eyes; there actually ceased to be visible lightning. Only the faintest glows appeared in the clouds, like a fairy dying in the undergrowth. (Shut up, you've all seen it.)

And then the storms seemed almost to stop entirely. This at least I can try to pin down on geography. I had, after all, moved quite a distance away from the North Sea. But I was still home every summer, and those storms that were once upon me several times a year were now only detectable once or twice each summer, and they never passed overhead.

I can't recall hearing a single crack of thunder in the last two years.

I was expecting the title to be a Storm Spirit reference.

I've seen a number of lightining storms over the Cotswold hills, but nothing compares to taking the Channel Ferry in the blackest midnight, head stuck out of a window into the lashing rain, whooping into the screaming wind as bolt after bolt lit up the ocean and sky alike, a mere half-mile away from my hollering face.

I was on a plane, at the point in the journey when the plane is flying above the clouds. In the distance, we could see a patch of cloud where a thunderstorm must have been going on. I’ve never seen anything quite as awe-inspiring as flashes of lightning from above the clouds.

That sounds awesome. When I was little I was scared of lightning and always hid under the table with my dog and cat when there was a storm.
