Oh, That Sounds Interesting (No It Fucking Doesn't!)

So I've been starting to compose more experimental stuff lately, but still keeping to the theme of bass music.
So, as I'm currently working on an EP which will hopefully be a mix of all sorts of bass music/dubstep subgenres, I was wondering if somebody could help me out with something. I want to make a modern classical/orchestral thing merged with possibly DnB or Dubstep. I know some people here know a thing or two about that sort of music.
What I'm mainly looking for here is somebody who is willing to collaborate with me. I know none of you like bass music but it's just something I'm trying out, and it's a bit of fun.
I guess how it'd work is someone would make a basic classical/orchestral piece however they like (electronic or with actual instruments), send me the stems so I can mess about a little, and by the end we should end up with a pretty interesting result.
However, I know that the people who actually have experience with this are probably really busy, so it probably won't happen, but hey, it's worth a shot.

The idea of writing a piece with the intention of someone pulling it apart doesn't sound very appealing to me.

If you need advice on the classical side of things I'm willing to help, though. I gave Slog Bait some tips the other day.

Pulling it apart? I think you misunderstand what I'm trying to say.
I've never done anything like this before, I know nothing about orchestral, so I'm not even sure if I'd choose the right instruments, let alone if they sound good. I want it to sound proper, not as if some dubstep producer has slapped together some violins and a trumpet.
Tips would be great, though, yes. I appreciate any help I can get.

I understand exactly what you want to do. You want to arrange an orchestral piece in a different style.

Can you read music? Short of playing in an orchestra one of the best things you can do to learn about that kind of music is to follow pieces through with scores. I don't even need scores any more to appreciate what's going on in most works.

Orchestras have fairly standardised instrument setups. If you're writing for orchestra choosing instruments will never be an issue. The nuances of the writing between the instruments is the important thing. If you're talking about not being sure what instruments to use you're probably thinking more along the lines of chamber music, which is the most open ended thing ever. Instrument pairings in orchestras is a good way to learn what works. Again, just get out there and listen to things. Wind quintets are fantastic for listening at how a composer uses the tone colours of the five instruments.

If you want my opinion on putting a piece into a different style, take a piece that already exists. This is the place to go once you find a piece you like.

I think it would be more versatile to make one from scratch, thanks for all the advice. I've been talking to Slog Bait and we've agreed to collaborate, since he's had some experience with orchestral. I'm not sure how it'll work yet, but we're figuring it out.
