A list

Here is a list of all of the things I'm too tired to do right now:
  1. Writing anything substantial (ie not this)
  2. Flute Practice
  3. Composing Music
  4. Arranging Music
  5. Going for walks
  6. Reading
  7. Standing up for more than a few minutes
  8. Playing video games
  9. Sitting up for long periods of time
  10. Singing

Basically, anything other than lying in bed watching mindless TV all day, or browsing the internet. Some of this is a bit exaggerated, like reading. I can read things. I cannot focus on stories or meaningful articles enough to absorb any information, and I just end up being really confused about what I'm reading. It's not even that I'm tired. It's just that I'm so exhausted that I can't think about things.

I'm still really bad. I've been back at school on and off for a few days, but I'm not in a place where I can get much done, and I'm too annihilated when I get home to do any homework. After 3 weeks of not being able to do much, and an entire term of struggling, I'm really really behind in everything.

My teacher are all being good so far, but I don't think any of them know how little I've been doing. not having a diagnosis doesn't give me much to fall back on in the next few weeks.

I'm going insane.

I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow because this is all fucking crazy.

Have you considered that it may be depression? Lethargy is a common symptom of depression. And clinical depression doesn't need to have a knowable cause; it's all to do with chemical imbalances in the brain.

I wish you the best of luck with your doctor's appointment. If s/he says there's nothing wrong with you, push back. Don't accept anything but a full effort to help you.

I can't remember if I've mentioned it already but I have a little bit of a history with this kind of thing with a bout of what was eventually assumed to be post viral fatigue in 2010. This is almost exactly what that was like.

Thinking back to last year I was really starting to struggle at a few points. The teachers who had me in the mornings on Thursday or Friday noticed me becoming more consistently late as the year went on. It never got this bad, but this year has been 100x harder/more full on than last year.

Doctor said that he's going to treat me for my low thyroxin, which would match up to the symptoms. There was also some werid thing with my iron levels. My reserves were good, but the other thing they measure was below average.

I'm on 2 new medications, a thyroxin supplement and a low-dose iron tablet, for 4 weeks. After that I go for more blood tests and report back to my doctor. If things are still bad he's going to send me to a specialist.

Thyroxin supplements can cause weight loss. I'm 177cm (5' 9 1/2") and ~60kg (132 lbs), if not just under. My doctor was concerned about putting me on them because I don't have much to lose. I'm going to have to keep my eye on this.
