To be fair (sort of Devil's Advocate here) bankers fuelled the economic boom of the 2000s in Britain. Unfortunately, unfettered greed is a natural part of the human condition and so they orchestrated an unsustainable amount of economic growth. To say 'all bankers are bad' is a bit unfair though...not to say the vast majority aren't arse holes though.

Maybe more anger should be directed at the lawmakers who allowed them to operate in that way than at the bankers themselves.

What's the point any way? That's in the past, get angry at people won't get us out of an economic slump, good policy making will. Fortunately, George Osborne actually pulled his finger out with the budget. Unfortunately a lot of the good policies don't come into effect until 2014 and by that point inflation will have invalidated them to some degree.

Cut middle tax rate to 35% and put the top band back to 50% (or increase the allowance which has been done), keep the base rate of interest at 0.5%, maintain course of strict budget cuts in areas such as the military and the government. Simple.

Aside from a few points on that list I think some of them actually make sense. Not that the top bankers who are responsible for the majority of the shit we are currently in shouldn't be lined up and shot. But just because people have a lot of money means they can't try to spend less of it, or what? I mean having the state pay for your sons education while you have a rupturing bank account is obviously disgusting, but other than that I see little problems in this article.
