Crazier Than I Expected

So, Anna and I are no more. Within two weeks she was hinting at how much she wanted to get married, saying how her name would then be Anna Bell, showing me pictures of engagement rings, and liking them on facebook. She would tell me of dreams that she had where I asked her to marry me. I thought it was all very cute...until Monday.

Her ex boyfriend came back to town on Saturday, and started blowing her phone up. He was trying as hard as he could to get her back, and she was unfazed until he tried a marriage proposal. Everything went to shit then. This girl wanted to be married so hard that she was considering going back to a guy who has no car, no job, and literally knocked a few of her teeth out. She gave me an ultimatum. I told her that I won't play this game, that I love her, but we haven't spent enough time together for that, and that I'll make it easy for her. I broke up with her.

I changed my mind a few hours later, and told her she needs to get straight in her head who she wants to be with. We were back together for a few hours before I got a text saying that she can't do this, and will be by at some point to pick up her things. This was all Monday. She married her ex on Tuesday.

Ohhh, it's lots better. I'm really not that broken up about this. I didn't expect her to actually go marry this dude, but oh well. I'm not even mad at her. I'm the first person she has ever dated who either wasn't on crack, or didn't beat the shit out of her. She is psychologically damaged, and is compelled to do things she is destined to regret. She's still a sweetheart, though. I hope things go okay for her.

What would be the point of getting mad, though? She's hurting herself more than she's hurting me. She's very confused, and wants so desperately to be happy, and it's never happened for her, and if she keeps going like this it never will. I feel very sad for her, and not in the smarmy way. She really is a good person, and I miss her, and I hope she can at some point get over the shit that drives her to do things like this.

	I'm not saying it would be a rational reaction. Well so long as both of you end up being happy I suppose. It's not like you don't deserve it. Urgh, that sounds condescending but it's not intentional.

Women like that are one of my biggest pet peeves. Not because they're crazy, but because they're weak. Sickeningly weak. I can't stand weak people, and weak women tend to be the most insufferable because they make phenomenally bad decisions.

I know it's a product of abuse, and that I should be sympathetic, but when it gets to the point where they're so deluded that they willfully put themselves in bad situations despite the warnings of friends and family, you know it's time to clock out. Caring about self-destructive people is poisonous.

	People have shotgun weddings all the time. It's becoming increasingly common with young people, to the point where I actually know a few who aren't even 25 and have already gone through divorce court. I, myself, am (unofficially) engaged. I think it was once considered romantically spontaneous to get married on the fly, now it's rightfully regarded as a sign of instability and immaturity.

	At any rate, there is another girl who has decided that I'm going to be her boyfriend. She's leaving me.....little choice in the matter, but I'm not exactly ready to say "Look at me, I'm in a relationship" just yet. Anyway, she's cute, and funny, so that helps. Her name is Jess for those of you who troll my facebook.
