This is the least important announcement I've heard today. And earlier my sister announced that she needed a piss.

She committed suicide for being bullied. What the fuck, man?

Holy shit okay she was young and made a stupid decision and as a result was stalked and bullied no matter where she went and eventually she offed herself because that shit wouldn't stop.

Personally, I'm not phased by the suicide itself and am pretty unsympathetic, but what caused it and what people continue to say about it is what's pissing me off.

There not a god damn fucking thing wrong with being comfortable with your body and sexuality. Knock off the name calling. Spitting "whore" and "slut" to any girl be they young or old because they've engaged in sexual activity (whether it's just simply taking off their shirt which SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM or actually engaging in intercourse of any kind) does no good for anyone and just enforces the weird ass sex taboo for women a lot of cultures seem to have.

If anything she killed herself because she got TOO MUCH ATTENTION not to mention it was all negative attention, which, quite frankly, can be just as bad if not worse than no attention at all.

People have different opinions on this. Dix is one of those that thinks she doesn't deserve all this press and all these people feeling sorry for her, because, she WAS a drug abusing whorebag, and that opinion is understandable, but why does it need a blog?

I don't think that it should take this girl killing herself for us to really examine the growing bullying problem (especially in Canadian schools).
I don't think that her video was anything particularly unique or original, look up tribute videos on Youtube and you get MILLIONS exactly like it. In most ways this was pretty much standard fare for some poor kid who was genuinely miserable, lost in the millions. I think that the reaction dwindling is what will piss me off, not Dix's asinine statements or the bullying itself.

I don't know who Amanda Todd is. I surmise based on what's been posted so far that she's a teenager who killed herself because she was bullied. Is that all there is to the story or am I missing some detail that potentially makes her the bad guy?

As someone who actually attempted suicide in his teens (and nearly succeeded), I can tell you that there is a lot of stupidity/naivety involved in making that decision. Now that I'm older and my hormones have plateaued, I can understand Dix's point of view, as Scrooge-like as it may be; if they'd rather die, they better do it, and decrease the surplus population of gene pool-diluting polyps etc etc.

While this point of view has some credence, you never hear it coming from people who actually went through the same thing in their youth. Dix can makes these hyperbolic statements because he lives in a different world, and is simply ignorant. He's not fat, he's not gay, he's not slow, so he will probably never know what it means to be bullied - and I mean really bullied. The kind of bullying that lasts for years and years, and runs much deeper than just getting slammed against the lockers once in a while by someone bigger than you.

That being said, Amanda Todd may have just been a stupid whore who was using depression as a vice for attention. There are those. Even so, my aforementioned point still stands.
