Every time a foreigner tells me they know America as well as an American, I can't help but cock my head like a confused Pug. You don't actually know shit, no matter what you think. Just like I don't actually know shit about where you live, and I won't pretend like I do.

King of The Hill is, for all intents and purposes, a perfect pastiche of American humor blended with also very-American sitcom absurdity. Unless you've lived here, grown up on our TV, and been around those same kind of people you will never fully appreciate it, whether you like it or dislike it.

By your logic, you can't really claim you know 'shit' about America either. In fact, can you really give an in-depth analysis of anywhere outside of your state? America is an enormous landmass with a population tipping 500,000,000.

Now you're overestimating. It's humour, it makes you laugh or it doesn't, how you get to those means, I think, is redundant.

I suppose it depends on how or why you want to laugh (if that makes sense?) I don't really have a preference towards any genres, though I do like to sit down and watch observational stand-up if I can catch it on TV whereas I'll pass up other things.

Basically, watching a Russian guy fall out of a five storey window, only to climb up the flat and resume his position dangling out the window, is just as funny to me as some of Frankie Boyle's stuff.

I don't know shit about America, I just know enough to "get" King of the Hill.

Some people don't like King of the Hill, but the ones I've met usually didn't understand why it was funny. That's not to say there aren't people out there who know exactly why it's funny and still don't laugh, but those people are joyless husks who were likely raped by their drunken, Santa suit-wearin' dad as children.

Then why should you rail against people for not liking KotH? Why should you encourage people to watch a show if you're just going to sneer and say "You didn't really get it" when the episode's over?

I didn't really encourage anyone to watch it. I'm not trying to bait people.

	A lot of it is down to the triviality and mundane nature of their lives and their problems, I think that's an over-arcing feature and the basis for a lot of the comedy. Not that there's anything wrong with that, if it works it works, personally it's just not my cup of tea, got nothing against anyone else liking it.
