I've already had to explain Herpetology to at least six people. It'd probably just be easier to call myself a Zoologist.

Oh, I didn't mean to say that you'd never have to explain Herpetology to anyone. Just that a small but significant percentage of the population will know what Herpetology is, but no-one will know what malacology is.

The names comes from the Ancient Greek herpeton, meaning "creepy thing". So it's the study of snakes and STIs.
