62 Shades of Murray

No, I have no idea how old I was when it came out, but the last time I watched it I was 8-12 or something.

I think the worst movie I've seen with Bill Murray in is that one where he plays the mayor in a city in the center of the world or something

City of Ember. Took Abbey to see that in the theater.

It was pretty bad. I mean, it wasn't offensively awful (That I can remember) and my girlfriend at the time loved it... but it didn't do anything for me whatsoever.

It was certainly no Ghostbusters or Groundhog Day.

I think Bill Murray was in that as kind of an afterthought.

That movie fell squarely into the "Forgettable fantasy movies based on forgettable fantasy novels" category, alongside The Spiderwick Chronicles and the Series of Unfortunate Events movie.

I was not impressed by it, and quickly forgot it existed until WoF brought it up.

I think I'm gonna watch Rushmore or The Royal Tenembaums tonight. I've heard so much about the latter that I should finally get off my ass and watch the damn thing.

While I constantly disagree with myself over which film is better, I have to recommend watching Rushmore first. You kind of need to be eased into the Wes Anderson sensibility to completely enjoy it, and I think that film accomplishes that.

Edit: Also, if part of you is interested in seeing one or the other because of Bill Murray then you definitely want to see Rushmore. Rushmore is a goddamned parade of Bill Murray being awesome.

Well, it's too late. I've already downloaded (I know you hate that but there's no other way I can watch this movie I so want to see) it, and I'm going to watch it later. It shouldn't matter too much, if they're unrelated films in terms of plot/characters.

Zombieland was an entertaining and good movie, though it doesn't surprise me in the least that OWF seems to be shaking its colecrive head at it.

Ghostbusters is fucking boring 80's trash that I hold on the same level as Demolition Man.

To me, Zombieland was everything a zombie movie shouldn't be; that is, a goreless teen-zine romp in which a pizza-faced basement-dwelling, Michael Cera knockoff fumbles around awkwardly because DURRHURR HOT GURL. Now, if in the last five minutes of the film, Jewfro and his joyless cunt of a girlfriend were eviscerated by zombies in explicit blood-spattering fashion, then I would have praised the film as a bold "fuck you" to the institution, and not as another generic teen comedy with zombies and Bill Murray thrown in as an afterthought.

Also, have you seen Scrooged? Lost in Translation? Where The Buffalo Roam? Rushmore? I think these movies (and others) exemplify Murray's awesomeness far more than Ghostbusters.

People who say Ghostbusters was Murray's best film are typically the same retards who say The Holy Grail is Monty Python's best film. They haven't actually seen anything else.

I think people only say that The Holy Grail isn't their best movie because it's too popular. If I had to rank them, I would put Life of Brian close, but still under Holy Grail. That movie was just a perfect storm for them.

I actually like The Meaning of Life more than both, but that's just me.

I liked both of those, but because of one of the final skits I can't stand to watch Meaning of Life.
