Internet adverts that never stream properly

Posted 09-18-2012 at 12:45 AM by AlexFili
Ugh. What is the point of adverts on the internet if they don't stream at the right speed. It's especially worse on youtube, since at least the actual videos have quality settings and you can pause them... But you can't do that with adverts! It annoys me a lot. Just let me buffer, damnit!

Use Adblock, like most of the people

Its a pity that ads are so horrible that we are practically forced to use adblock to have a decent internet experience.. Many smaller sites depend on ads.

It's a bit of a system failure if people with low bandwidth can't stream adverts... Not everybody has a high-speed broadband these days. I wonder why companies keep forgetting that - It was a problem for me even back in 2002 when I and most other people had dial up.

Default Adblock options actually allow ads from smaller sites that are non-intrusive. I think that's a good thing.

There's a game review site that hosts many of the games it reviews, but it sticks full length-unskippable adverts before the game starts loading; they're generally high quality and, especially before my modem was updated, '30-second adverts' could take well over a minute to run. It's the most annoying internet adverts have ever been for me; I'd scour the internet for mirrors rather than play them there, and it's driven me from using the site for the most part now, which is a shame. It was a great source for entertainment.

I generally hold the opinion that if you're going to advertise online, you can expect to be passionately hated.

I have this Text-Enhance thing that puts ads in certain texts on the screen. You think something a link but instead an ad pops up. I'm been trying to disable it but even Ad-block won't
